As club’s General Director Valery Tikhonenko reported in an interview to the official website of BC Astana, club, the club is in talks with FIBA Europe about the possibility to perform in Eurochallenge Cap since the season 2013/14.

"Now we are in negotiations with FIBA Europe to participate in next year's Cup Challenge. We have already received permission from the world FIBA, there is а permission from the FIBA-Asia, we only have to obtain permission of a European federation" – Tikhonenko said.

It is interesting that thus Astana General Director notes perspectives of the national team of Kazakhstan in FIBA-Asia. According to Tikhonenko, in two-three years the national team can be output in the World Cup through an Asian qualifying tournament.

Let's remind, in the past season BC Astana was the participant of VTB United League. In the group the team took the seventh place and couldn't break through in tournament playoffs.
